First things first. Check this website from the Wednesday before your XRACE for any changes to the event scheduling.
RACE DAY
On race day, you need to register your team. You do this by heading to the red and white XRACE tents and collecting your registration bag. This will have all you need to complete the XRACE.
Allow additional time for parking.
CHECKLIST
• Swimming togs on (underneath your clothing) – you may or may not be getting wet.
• Towel.
• Change of clothing for after your XRACE.
• Comfortable athletic clothing – like shorts, running shoes and cap.
• Sunscreen.
• Water bottle.
• Raincoat – if it rains, we race and get wet.
• Picnic for team and family supporters for after XRACE. Prize giving is held straight after the Nippers’ Challenge.
• Mum (or Dad), Grandma and Grandpa leading the cheer team and setting up the picnic but please, leave all dogs at home!
You do not need to bring along your eTicket. XRACE operates on a complete honesty system.
RACE BRIEFING AND RUN SHEET
We hold a group race briefing for every competitor just 10 minutes before the event starts. It is important for your team to listen to the instructions as we will be revealing vital tips and clues about the challenges that lie ahead.
VALUABLES
Leave all valuables with your loved ones who are not racing. Do not race with items that can be damaged.
Leave your phone, wallet, car keys and ESPECIALLY YOUR CAR REMOTE with your supporters.

RED HERRING CHALLENGES
At some events, we may or may not have “red herring challenges”. This is where we go out of our way to test teams that didn’t listen or read their challenge instructions correctly!
Here is an example of a red herring we used last season.
We told all teams that all challenges are identified by XRACE marshals wearing yellow safety vests. We then set up a challenge with marshals wearing orange safety vests. If a team arrives at the red herring challenge, they must complete the challenge as a time penalty and it does not count to their overall 10 challenges.
RESULTS AND PHOTOS
At the completion of each event, results will be posted on this website within 24 hours. Make sure to check out how your team was placed in your age group division and overall. Don’t forget to click on the link and print out your finisher certificate!
Photos are a big deal to everyone as they recall that moment that you and Mum or Dad raced together. Once XRACE has been completed, head over to our photography booth where we will professionally take your team photo; this can include your supporters as well. With your medals resplendent around your neck, we will take a fantastic shot of the victorious team.
We will be posting all photos to our Facebook page. It normally takes us around 24 hours to process the hundreds of photos we post to Facebook!
RACE NUMBER
In your race pack is your race number FOR THE ADULT ONLY. Parent or caregiver, attach your number to the front of your shirt, under the XRACE logo, using the four safety pins provided.
TRANSPONDER
You will receive a timing transponder in your race pack. You need to lace this onto your shoe – either foot is fine. This “chip” will beep when you cross the start line and record your time. When you finish, the chip will record your finish time and calculate your finishing place in your age group. Both team members receive a transponder.
Parents, if at all possible – make sure your child’s shoes have laces and not Velcro straps. This will make it easier to attach the transponder to your child’s shoes.
