Here is a response to the 10 most common questions. If the answer is below, we will consider this as your query replied to.
1. I HAVE LOST/DELETED/NOT RECEIVED MY CONFIRMATION EMAIL AND ETICKET. CAN YOU RE-SEND A COPY OF MY CONFIRMATION EMAIL?
Click on this link to confirm your registration. Type in your surname in the search field and it will display a list of names. If your name is on the list, click on the icon on the left and produce your eTicket.
It is not compulsory to bring a need to get along to registration – but is always good to check you have been confirmed into the event. If you have checked the above confirmation and your name is not there, please email us at the link at the bottom of this page.
2. I AM HAVING DIFFICULTY WITH THE SCHOOL QUESTION AND I CANNOT REGISTER – HOW DO I COMPLETE REGISTRATION?
The school question is an auto complete list which contains every school in New Zealand. As you type, the school name should appear in a selection box below as you type. For example, if you were to type “Hawera”, you would see the options Hawera High School, Hawera Intermediate and Hawera Primary School appear below. If you do not see this drop-down list it may be caused by one of the following issues:
1. Your computer settings – many corporate computers have stringent security settings which prevent the list from displaying. We suggest using a non-corporate computer to register for XRACE.
2. The school’s operating name is different from its registered name – our dropdown list has been complied directly from the Ministry of Education Directory of Schools. The name of the school on the front gate often differs from the registered name. For example, Waipu Primary School has a registered name of Waipu School (primary does not appear in the name).
3. Your web browser – this may be out of date or does not have the latest updates, thus preventing you from seeing the drop down list. We suggest utilising a different web browser.
3. IF AN EVENT IS SOLD OUT, CAN WE SOMEHOW GET AN ENTRY?
No – once an event is sold out, there will be no more registrations taken. You can enter another XRACE if that event's entries are still open.
4. CAN I GET A REFUND?
There are no refunds for XRACE. All competitors can collect their race goodies from registration. You can also nominate a friend to collect your pack – be sure to give them a copy of your eTicket so they can collect your packet.
5. CAN I RACE WITH BOTH MUM AND DAD?
No, XRACE is for teams of 2 people – one child and one parent only.
6. CAN I RACE WITH 2 KIDS AT THE SAME TIME?
No XRACE is for teams of 2 people – one child and one parent only.
7. CAN CHILDREN UNDER 7 RACE?
Children under 7 cannot do XRACE, although they can enter XRACE NIPPERS.
8. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
XRACE should take most teams between 45 and 90 MINUTES to complete.
9. WHY IS THERE NO XRACE IN OUR TOWN THIS YEAR?
To our XRACE fans, we would love to be able to produce XRACE right around the country. Whilst we haven't produced in your town this year, we do hope to be able to bring the XRACE experience to your town in the years to come.
10. HOW DO I QUALIFY FOR THE GRAND FINAL?
Any team can register for the final. To qualify for the grand final, all you need to do is register and complete your local regional event. Click here for more.
